Website information and services
This website introduces our campaign advice and telemarketing services. Its content is general business information. An enquiry does not itself create a contract. Service scope, fees, deliverables, performance commitments and data-handling responsibilities are agreed separately in writing.
We aim to keep the website accurate and available, but content may change and access may be interrupted. Please contact us to confirm information relevant to a proposed project.
Intellectual property and acceptable use
Website content, design and branding are owned by Lace Marketing Ltd or used under licence. You may view the site and retain reasonable copies for personal or internal business reference. Other reuse requires permission unless permitted by law or the relevant licence. Third-party images remain subject to the credits and licences shown with them.
Do not unlawfully access our systems, introduce harmful code, interfere with the website or use its content to infringe another person's rights. Links to other websites are provided for reference; their content and privacy practices are controlled by their operators.
Legal rights and governing law
Nothing in this notice excludes or restricts liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or statutory right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
The laws of England and Wales apply to the use of this website, subject to any mandatory protections that apply to you. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. A written service contract may contain separate terms governing the services supplied.
2. Privacy notice
Who is responsible for your information?
Lace Marketing Ltd is the controller of personal information used for this website, enquiries, our own business relationships and our own marketing. This means we decide why and how that information is used. For privacy enquiries, contact Patrick at the email, telephone number or registered office listed above.
This notice covers website visitors, people contacting us and business contacts whose information we handle as controller. It should be read alongside any additional information given when we contact you or collect your details. Relevant UK law includes the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), as amended.
What information do we handle?
- Enquiry and contact details: your name, employer, job title, business email, telephone number and information you choose to share about an enquiry or campaign.
- Business relationship records: correspondence, proposals, agreements, account administration and notes of relevant conversations.
- Business prospect information: work-related contact details, role, business interests, campaign responses and follow-up preferences, where relevant to the activity described below.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, pages requested, referring page, access times, and security or cookie-preference records collected by the website platform.
The contact page uses email and telephone links. An email link opens your email application; we receive the information when you send the message. You can browse without submitting an enquiry, but we need sufficient contact information to respond if you ask us for help. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive personal information.
Where does information come from?
We receive information directly from you when you email, call or otherwise deal with us, and technical information through the website platform. Business contact information may also come from the sources identified in the completed campaign and data-supply information below.
Campaign and data-supply information to complete: [Identify the actual sources used, including any public business websites, professional directories, licensed suppliers, referrals or client lists. State whether Lace maintains or supplies contact databases, what information is supplied, why, the lawful basis and legitimate interests relied on, and the recipients or specific recipient categories. Remove activities that do not apply.]
Additional processing to confirm: [If calls are recorded/transcribed, or profiling or significant solely automated decisions are used, add the relevant data, purposes, lawful bases, safeguards, retention and rights information.]
Where we obtain your information indirectly, we provide the required privacy information within the applicable time limit: normally within one month, or earlier when first contacting you or first disclosing the information. Any exemption must be assessed under the law; public availability alone does not remove the need for transparency.
Why do we use information, and on what basis?
| Purpose |
Lawful basis |
| Answer enquiries, discuss a brief and communicate with business contacts. |
Our legitimate interests in responding to requests and developing relevant business relationships. Contract or steps requested before a contract applies where you personally are the contracting party. |
| Manage services, communications and account administration. |
Contract where you personally are a party; otherwise our legitimate interests in managing the business relationship. Legal obligations apply to records we must keep by law. |
| Protect the website, investigate misuse and resolve disputes. |
Our legitimate interests in security and protecting our business and other people, and legal obligations where applicable. |
| Our own relevant business marketing and preference management. |
Legitimate interests where appropriate following an assessment of your rights and expectations; consent where required. Electronic marketing must also meet PECR requirements. |
| Optional website analytics or advertising technologies, if enabled. |
Consent where required. Any reliance on a statutory exception must meet its specific conditions, including transparency and an objection mechanism where applicable. |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we assess whether the use is necessary and whether your interests, rights or freedoms override it. You can object as explained below. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Campaigns carried out for clients
Our role depends on the actual activity. Where we process personal information solely on a client's documented instructions, that client is the controller and we act as its processor. The client's notice explains that processing. Where we determine purposes and essential means ourselves, including any independent contact-data activity, we have controller responsibilities for that use. We identify the relevant organisation when making campaign contact and help direct privacy requests to the appropriate controller.
Marketing and your choices
An enquiry does not itself give consent for unrelated marketing. When we send business marketing, we identify the sender and provide a way to opt out. Marketing emails or texts to individual subscribers, including sole traders and certain partnerships, require consent unless a valid legal exception applies. Corporate business marketing remains subject to applicable privacy and opt-out requirements.
Before live marketing calls, we check relevant TPS and CTPS registrations and our own suppression records, unless a specific valid permission permits the call. We respect previous objections. Publicly listed contact details do not override these requirements.
You can stop direct marketing
You have the right to object at any time to the use of your personal information for direct marketing, including associated profiling. Tell us by email, telephone or during a call. We will stop that use and may keep the minimum information needed on a suppression list to respect your choice.
Email patrick@lacemarketing.com to opt out
Who receives information?
Access is limited to people who need information for the relevant purpose. Recipients may include staff; suppliers providing website hosting, email, telephony, business-record systems and IT support; professional advisers; and authorities where disclosure is required or justified by law. Client-campaign and any contact-data recipients must be identified in the completed processing information above.
The website uses Squarespace. Squarespace processes visitor information to deliver the site and may act as an independent controller for some of its own platform purposes, including security. See Squarespace's privacy policy.
Some images on our website are loaded directly from Wikimedia servers. Loading them sends the provider technical request information such as your IP address, browser details and potentially the referring page. See the Wikimedia Foundation privacy policy. Other external links are subject to the destination site's own notice.
Processing outside the UK
Suppliers may process information outside the UK. Squarespace's arrangements include processing in the United States. Its data processing terms describe the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and contractual safeguards, including the UK Addendum where applicable. See Squarespace's data processing terms.
For restricted transfers for which we are responsible, we use an applicable UK adequacy regulation or appropriate safeguards, with any required assessment. You may contact us for information about the relevant safeguards or a copy, subject to necessary redactions.
Provider and transfer detail to complete: [Confirm email, CRM, telephony and other providers; processing countries; their roles; the transfer mechanism actually relied on; and the safeguards for any direct image-loading arrangements. Update the wording above to reflect the finished setup.]
How long do we keep information?
We review information and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed. Retention is determined by these criteria:
- Enquiries: whether the enquiry remains active, whether follow-up has been requested, the date of the last substantive contact and any relevant dispute.
- Client and contractual records: the service relationship, relevant accounting or legal requirements and the period reasonably needed to establish or defend a claim.
- Prospect and campaign records: relevance and accuracy of the contact, the campaign purpose, response and agreed follow-up. Processor records are returned or deleted according to lawful client instructions and the processing agreement.
- Suppression and consent records: the minimum evidence needed to respect choices and demonstrate the applicable permission or objection while relevant marketing activity continues.
- Technical logs and cookies: the security or operational purpose, provider deletion settings and the individual cookie durations described in the completed cookie information.
Retention review: [Check these criteria against the actual retention schedule. Add specific periods where established, including any recordings, data-supply records and website logs.]
Your data protection rights
Depending on the processing and the applicable legal conditions, you may ask us to:
- Provide access to your personal information and information about its use.
- Correct inaccurate information or complete incomplete records.
- Erase information or restrict its use.
- Stop processing based on legitimate interests, subject to the applicable legal test.
- Provide portable data where processing is automated and based on consent or a contract with you.
You can also withdraw consent and object to direct marketing as set out above. Rights are subject to applicable conditions and exemptions. To make a request, email patrick@lacemarketing.com, call 07870 677401 or write to our registered office. You do not have to use a particular form.
We normally respond without undue delay and within one month. Where the law permits an extension or a pause, we explain the reason. We may ask for proportionate information to confirm identity or understand the request. Requests are normally free; any permitted fee or refusal must be explained.
Security
We use appropriate organisational and technical measures, proportionate to the information and risks, to protect personal information. We limit access to authorised people and relevant service providers. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
